Biocompost de Lugo is located on a seven hectare
site in the area of Pedrablanca, near the
municipal capital (Feira do Monte). It has
modern installations equipped with the latest
technologies that allow for the treatment
of sewage, purines and pruning remains, using
a system that respects the environment. |

The compost warehouse occupies 6400 square
meters and is formed by four pools for reception
of purines, each with a 60.5 cubic meter capacity.
In addition, it will have two 600 square meter
area stretch to store sewage sludge and forest
weeds and cuttings. |

|
|
|
These installations have a capacity to treat
approximately 140 cubic meters of waste per
day, which makes a total of 40,000 tons per
year. Additionally, annual compost production
nears 15,800 tons, a figure that could be
doubled in the middle term, with a posterior
enlargement of the installations. |

The compost that leaves the plant is treated
differently according to its final use. |
